Active Duty Vets More than 200 Marines with the 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing will return home Monday, February 25, following a deployment to Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.
The MCAS Miramar-based Marines will be welcomed by friends, families and loved ones on the flight line aboard the air station.
3rd MAW (Forward) is completing a year-long tour as the aviation combat element for Regional Command-Southwest, where it provided close air support, air assault and transportation for International Security Assistance Force-Afghanistan troops in southern Afghanistan.
