Over 800 Veteran Members, On Target to Enroll 5,000 Veterans by 2018
MVPVets (The MedTech and BioTech Veterans Program) is recognizing top donors for the program in 2014. MVPVets, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, provides training and mentorship to veterans and transitioning military in order to help them recareer into rewarding jobs in Life Sciences industry.
Wholly sponsored by grants and the Medical Device and Technology, Biological Technological, Pharmaceutical, and other segments within the Life Sciences industry, the program partners with host companies for one-day recareering seminars and provides virtual mentorship and training through the MVPVets collaborative online portal.
February marks the completion of the organization’s first full year of operations, made possible by the generosity and philanthropy of the industry associations and companies that donate the funds needed to help veterans find compelling careers in the life sciences industry.
Today, MVPVets would like to recognize the most generous and active donors in the program:
— Acelity, a renowned a global wound care and regenerative medicine company
— Haemonetics, the global leader in blood management solutions
— B. Braun, the industry leader in developing infusion therapy and pain management products and services
Together, these three companies donated nearly one third of the funds needed for MVPVets to succeed in helping hundreds of veterans connect with mentors and participate in partnered recareering events and online training through the Life Collaborative learning courses.
“The generosity of supporters like Acelity, Haemonetics, B. Braun, and also our founding company Abiomed, enables MVPVets to provide free job skills training and enrollment into Life Collaborative distance learning courses for hundreds of veterans,” said Mike Grice, Chief Operating Officer, MVPVets. “We would like to sincerely thank all of our sponsors, including the industry associations AdvaMed for starting and supporting the program and MDMA for its enthusiastic support and engagement. All of our supporters have provided the financial sponsorship and commitment which allows us to help the veteran community.”
With donations from top sponsors and nearly 30 other donor companies, MVPVets has been able to host over 200 veteran participants in industry sponsored recareering seminars and has tripled the size of the program during the first year of operations. With over 800 participating veterans, MVPVets is on track to reach its enrollment goal of 5,000 veterans into the program by 2018.
