The event had a great turnout of individuals from organizations in San Diego that support our veterans, including John Osborne, AT&T director of external affairs; Ted Owen, CEO, Carlsbad Chamber of Commerce; Madonna May, Director, Military Mentoring Initiative, Carlsbad Chamber of Commerce; Marie Joyce, District Director, Assemblyman Martin Garrick; Kurt Schwab, Founder, Veterans of Operation Enduring Iraqi Freedom; Anne Bernstein, COO, Urban Corps; Chris Champine, Communications Director, Office of Supervisor Horn; Lisa Russell, Director of Marketing, MCRD Museum Historical Society and USO representatives. The event was open to the public and a number of San Diegans participated in recording a message to show their appreciation for veterans and active duty military.
In honor of Veterans Day, AT&T hosted “It’s a Great Day to Love a Veteran” event on November 8 at the AT&T Point Loma store location. Recognizing how important it is to take the time to recognize the incredible efforts of the nation’s veterans and active duty military, the event provided customers with the opportunity to use devices to record personal messages of thanks for veterans and active duty military. The messages were then uploaded to AT&T’s Love a Veteran YouTube playlist and shared with veterans, military personnel and the public in the website playlist.
Though the event has concluded, San Diegans can still get involved in recording a message. Should you have a special message that you would like to share with a loved one or someone in the community who is a veteran or military personnel, simply record your thank-you and send the video file to loveavet@att.com.
