Meeting educational needs takes more than a good curriculum and a robust budget. It takes recognition of a gap – and a willingness to fill that opening.
Did you know that San Diego Miramar College, 10440 Black Mountain Road, San Diego, has a Paralegal Program? In the San Diego Miramar Paralegal Program, students receive an education that qualifies them to work under the supervision of lawyers in law offices, corporations, governmental agencies, or other law-based environments. Current paralegal students and those who have graduated from Miramar’s program would like to thank the many businesses that surround Miramar College.
In the fall, and then, in the spring, each on-campus club competes against one another to raise funds for activities that enhance its members’ ability to fit into their chosen career.
The paralegal club, thanks to many local businesses, has managed to surpass all other clubs in its ability to raise funds thanks to the following nearby companies: Fillippi’s Pizza Grotto; Massage Envy Spa; Barnes & Noble; Sandwich Emporium; O’s The American Kitchen; Vons; On The Border Mexican Grill; Jersey Mike’s Subs; Islands Fine Burgers & Drinks; Carls Jrs; and, Hometown Buffet. These businesses have given students the means to raise funds by donating complimentary gift certificates to the Paralegal Program.
The students used those donated certificates in raffle drawings to raise funds to ensure that paralegal students will attend paralegal conferences outside of their normal classroom environments.
